Print
Commercial Operation on April 7, 2010

The Healey Falls Generating Station is located on the Trent-Severn Waterway near the town of Campbellford and was placed in service in 1913. The station is a “run of river” type hydroelectric facility and the flows on the river are controlled solely by Parks Canada whose primary objective is to maintain water levels for navigation purposes.

The Healey Falls Generating Station Project  consists of 4 generating units with a combined capacity of 15.7 MW. With the addition of the new turbine, the facility will increase the utilization of the water that is made available by Parks Canada for energy production.

It is estimated that this facility generates approximately 100,000 MWh of renewable energy per year.
